Well you might notice the lack of any substantial post this week. Thats because of something very nice that windows gave me. A Blue screen of death. I came home on friday evening to a blue screen reading about 20 fatal errors in the system. When I turned it off and tried to reboot it got to the xp loading screen and just rebooted. It repeated this process about 10 times before i got fed up, turned it off and walked away.

The next day i then tried to salvage anything I could. With little success. I then proceeded to reinstall Windows. After that lovely experience I try to log in. And am told that winlog32.exe has failed. Fantastic.

Long story short when I do finally get into windows I get about 20 error messages saying this and that are corrupt.

So I'm switching to Ubuntu. (linux) I'm in the process of downloading ubuntu and plan on dualbooting it with windows. So, with my first forray into the wonderful world of open source software thrust upon me, I'll be documenting it, and posting the results up here as I go along.
